critter in the kitchen

Learning how to code by making my personal recipe vault!

I keep a kitchen notebook to note any recipe I make. It is convenient in the moment for me, however it is abysmal to go back and find one specific dish, or find the most recent iteration.

So... why not digitize it?

This project structure is great because I go go as simple or complex as I want! Plus it makes sharing recipes so much easier (and more legible lol).

visual design

The next big visual update I’d like to tackle is the homepage! The basics are there, but I want to make it more cute B)

There are quite a few changes involved, so I’ll break it down into stages so its not overwhelming.

interaction design

I have so many ideas bouncing around in my noggin, but I’d like to tackle smaller interactions to learn the basics of CSS & Java.

Icons pop up on hover

This is a delightful and silly add to learn hover interactions!

Adjust recipe size

I loooove not having to manually scale a recipe up or down. This is a personal MUST have. I love the idea of being able to adjust the serving size and simple 1/2 x2 or x3 options.

code cleanup

As I learn more, there are things I end up wanting to change, simplify, or re-organize across different file types!
